Just became the owner of a '98 740i black/black w/40,000 mi.
Owners manual had to be ordered so I have a couple of questions to get some items programmed.

1) How do I program the home-link system to my current garage door opener?

Can't help you here, as mine is a '95.

2) Does this car have motion detector in interior when car alarm is set? When I lock car with windows open, reach in, nothing happens?

Don't believe that there is a motion detector within the interior, at least on the '95s.

3) How do you set memory settings for drivers seat? Steps please.

This is relatively simple. On mine, you set everything up the way you want it, and press "M" and then the number you want to use. I am the primary driver, so I use "1" and the wife uses "2."

4) Using key system, isn't there a way to roll up windows and sunroof? Push buttons in a certain order?

On the '95s., you simply put the key in the door lock on the drivers side (there is no key hole in the passenger door) and hold the key against the spring loaded tension to get the windows and S/R down or up, open or closed. Turning the key against the stop clockwise and holding it in that position rolls the windows down, and the opposite movement rolls then back up.

I'm sure I'll have other things that will pop up here as I go over car. I really appreciate this boards sharing of information.
