Back on topic - 6 speed is the only way to go.
If I saw your car in the lot with an M7 badge, walked up to it, and saw an auto stick between those front seats, my heart would truly sink.
Nothing would beat a six-speed 7 w/ 400hp - period. The ultimate driving machine.
