Got price of $536 to replace front windshield. Dealer wanted $934. It's suppose to be a BMW windshield, rather than an "aftermarket" one. I believe it's heated as well as tinted. Suppose to put it on tomorrow....takes about an hour so they say?

Same thing happened to me. Initially i couldn't understand where it came from, but a very close inspection revealed a small mark left from a rock hitting the windshield. IT was so small it could barely be seen though, so take a close look and see what you can find. I think if it's cracked like that it will have to be replaced. I was quoted around $400 for the windshield, but then someone said it was only available in heated version (I didn't know this), and was quoted $600 for that. (These are not prices from the stealer, which no doubt would be higher).

Does anyone know if the windshield is only available in heated version? Did all 7s come with heated windshield? I can't see that my car has it (95'), but the glass shop insists that's the only thing listed for my car.

Just noticed a windshiled crack on passenger side, starting at very top and extending about five or six inches down and curving toward driver side. What might have caused this? Best way to repair, if possible, or will I need a new windshield? Cost? Will insurance cover? Any help would be appreciated. Joe
