Spotted Dave Z. just yesterday on the E39 forum. Didn't know he had gone to BMW until then. He still has his SS, BTW. I hear he is going to install a Torsen2.
Don't know what took me so long to discover the Bimmer. Guess I'm a little slow?
I should have dumped that SS long ago, and not put all that money into engine after engine. Five to be exact. Final got it right, and had to trade it in to get rid of it. The market has become very soft on the Impala SS, as there are simply too many available for the demand. That car cannot begin to compare to any E38.
When people discover the alternative, as we did, there will be even more SS Impalas F/S.
The Bimmer is simply the best car for the money, period!

I vaguely remember you from SoCalSS. I had a '96 DGGM but wasn't all that active in the club.. I actually ran a "renegade" mailing list before Kevin and Frank caved and finally started one of their own (though I guess they kept it private to paying members only.. whatever). What made you give it up? Got tired of all the rebuilds?
It's funny how some of us Impala SS people gave their beaSSts for BMWs. I now have a '99 540i/6, and also on the E39 board is Dave Zeckhausen of brakefeSSt fame (he has a '00 540i/6).
