LCD screens have a polarized layer. Think of polarizing like venitian blinds. The LCD is letting light through horivontal blinds. If you glasses are also blinds, but they are live vertical blinds, then the horizontal and vertical lines together will block all light.
Try tilting your head to see if it makes a difference. I wear polarized Revo sunglasses, and they would not block any light from the LCD if the polarized lenses were rotated about 15 degrees...joe
