Background - Just picked up clean 95 740IL with 49K miles. Impecable except for a vibration/rough idle at idle and first few feet (most of the time). If I take off a little harder vibration is gone. Florida car but I am in CA.

I am aware of the engine sulfur problem (thanks to this board) so I have an appointment with Irvine BMW.

I would appreciate any feedback on:

1-This Dealer
2-Engine replacement in the 740 in general (follow problems? etc) (I realize that if the sullfur problem is there it has to be done but in general I just as soon keep these dealer so called mechanics off my engines)
3-Dealer casually mentioned that there will be costs involved because BMW only covers the block (i.e hoses, etc). This of course is opening the door to all kinds of abuse so I'd like to know if it is consistent as it would seem to me that if stuff needs to be replaced because of this work it must be covered.

Thanks
