Finally did it! Got a CPO 98iL w/45K miles. It is a beaut, BUT I am noticing that the transmission seems to want to always be in a higher gear. When I step on the accelerator, the car downshifts to get moving. I am driving in the "D" position. Is this normal? Maybe I should drive in the "4" position instead. Any thoughts? Thanks.

The transmission is adaptive so ti is likely the previous driver trained it to be mellow, just keep driving it the way you like, adn it will being to learn your style before long. It may be possible to reset it to factory standard, adn then get it to begin learing again, but this would be a dealer thing only.
