Anyone else thing the little chirp sounds "unBMW" - what ever that term means....? Is there a way to modify or just mute the sound without screwing up the alarm system?

Thanks

jk

I was told there is nothing you can do about it by my dealer. I have read many posts regarding "Key & Car Memory" that includes being able to mute the chirp, but was told by the San Antonio BMW Center that it is not available on 98's. I too would prefer a different sound or no sound, it is pretty wimpy for a BMW. On more than one occasion, I have had people look to see what made that noise. It sounds like a cheap aftermarket P.O.S.
