I'm considering purchasing a 2001 740i sport in April or May, and I have several questions about the phone system. My guess is that it will have the CPT 8000.
1) Can you dial stored numbers with voice commands?
2) With which carriers can you use the phone, e.g. AT&T or Sprint?
3) Will the Nav system display caller ID or messages waiting? Thanks in advance.
You can use the voice activation feature to speak the number -you first give command to dial, then you speak the number 888-555-1212-it will then dial -it recognizes everyones voice. To program in the name & number you must speak the name when you are programming in frequently dialed numbers.
Every area has both CDMA and TDMA carriers. Sprint carrie rservice is also available on CPT8000 phones. The phones are carrier dependent -you can not use the same phone to switch from CDMA to TDMA
service.
