Just had mine replaced under warranty on a '97. Same symptoms you describe. Works fine now.


Max,

You have the classic problem that all earlier E38's suffer from. It appears that the solder in the display card cracks over time & you loose some of the dots. Best option is to replace it with the up-dated one. If you’re still under warranty, free. If not it's $350-$400.

Some have made mention on removing the panel & re-doing the solder.

Let me know if you come up with something better.

Does anyone have any idea why I am missing dots on front display. For example my temperature is missing part of 7 in 71 degrees and some messages on computer display. Please help!
