I've taken my '98 740iL in for service there three times. Thus far, the experience has been good. I once brought the car in to fix a trim issue and while it was in, they noticed that the power steering and catalytic converter need to be fixed. They wer fixed when promised and it was all factory warranty work. I did not have to pay a dime.

The one nice thing that I have heard about some of the other dealers though is that they provide you with loaner cars when you take your care in for service; Irvine BMW just provides you with a shuttle.

I am about to take mine in for service there... major service. What's wrong with their service department?

It's a little bit of a drive from OC (where I live), but I got my 97 740i at Nick's BMW in LA and, for those that purchase thru them, they will send a flatbed to pick up your car with a loaner at the same time. You have to pre-arrange this service, but they did excellent service and reasonable rates. On a local basis, I've also had good luck with service at Crevier, but their prices are higher and they will only provide shuttle service.
