Try a contact cleaner spray in the switch (Radio Shack or any electronics supply has this). Since the switch you complain about faces up it is susectible to getting lots of dust in the switch contacts. If the contact cleaner restores function, then that may be all that you ever need to do to it. One other possibility to consider is that this switch gets jammed from entry and egress often in my car (my big butt or a lousy location I am not sure which is to blame?). Maybe the switch was damaged (by the previous owner not you ;), which can be replaced pretty easily. Do not go to the dealer because I gurantee these are the first two things they will do, and you can do them yourself for only a few dollars. If the switch is not the cause, then it is in the cabling under the seat, and it is best left to a dealer IMHO.
