Annoying CD changer malfunction (archive)

Hi,

I am having this odd problem with my CD-changer. From time
to time, I got this error message "CD ERROR" or "no disc" or "no discs", even with discs in the magazine. It usually
worked fine upon restarting the entire system. But by now,
itīs persistent and wont play any CD. Also, I cant manually
change the CD with the buttons, it would always remain on
CD 5? Is this some software bug or should I go get a new changer ?
