It is definitely in the boot on the left, and it has a simple (blue) connector that plumbs it straight into the video system. If you're just trying to connect in a video feed though, wouldn't you be better using the connectors in the rear console (Tom Marten's page mentioned in JohnD's reply talks about this in a bit of detail).

Does anyone know the location of the Traffic Master module in a UK 1998 740i?

Also how it connects into the TV system, as it seems to completly override all TV functions (I want to adapt it to connect a PC to the screen for a MP3 player)

Thank to anyone that can help.

I think the TM kit is located in the Boot/trunk adjacent to the Sat Nav hardware.
