Best price found for factory CD changer to integrate with my '98 740iL stock (non-DSP) head unit was at Pacific BMW (www.pacificbmw.com) - $515 - part number 82111467700 - CD changer without I-Bus - price does not include shipping. Found the adapter connectors in the trunk under a plastic cubby-hole that pulls out to reveal CD changer mounting bracket (left side of trunk). If anyone knows of a place where I can get a lower price, do let me know!! Otherwise, will let you all know how the install goes.
Other questions for the resident gurus (Big T et al):
How come the A/C does not kick on automatically to reach desired temperature as set on climate control? Seems a bit wierd that it has to be manually turned on for cooling to occur.
Also, the hot-cold wheel on the main vents - what is the point of having this when supposedly automatic climate control should take care of it? Seems like the climate control is really manual, as opposed to automatic.
Getting some intermittent very short buzzing sounds from climate control unit. Any ideas?
Also getting noise from the moonroof - will BMW replace the gasket under factory warranty? Sound diminishes when solid cover is slid shut under moonroof.
Final question - I promise!! Some creaking sounds from rear of car when people get in or out. Any ideas?
