Could anyone tell me what is the correct engine temperature on a '95 740i ? Mine works at 96-102 celsius, and I think it could be around 90...
Thanks.

The original thermostat for the M60(95, 740) was 85C. BMW no longer sells/specifies the 85 C thermostat and a service bulletin to solve the nikasil sulphur problem changed the thermostat to 95 C. The 95 degrees C is the opening temperture. The full open temp will be another 5 C higher. The thermostat on the M62 is a 105 C thermostat. The engine temperature is controlled be a heating element in the thermstat and the effective thermostat control range is from 80-105 degrees based on engine load.
