My '96 740iL has the Vin and one other number stamped on the right fender well (shock bubble) only.

I would like to confirm what the dealer told me about VIN labels on the inside of the front fenders. When you open the hood and look on each front fender, above the wheel, there is a place about 3 inches long in between two "bumps" where BMW used to put VIN labels. I was told they quit doing this in 95 or 96 (on the 7 series). Could you all open your hoods and see if you have VIN labels on either fender. Please state your year and either: missing; both;one side. This topic has been some concern due to some people thinking fenders have been replaced due to missing VIN labels.
Thank you
Chris
