I can answer the easy question: I'm getting about the same city mpg: 15-16. ('96 740iL 71k) ( Right now, I'm mixing ~equal amounts 93 & 89 octanes. But that's a whole 'nother discussion. )

Hi all, I hope someone in the group can help me with some 7 series newbie questions.

Can anyone tell me the location of the control modules for the alarm system and cruise control on a '97 740i.

I read that the alarm module was under the rear seat but I removed the seats and nothing resembling an alarm module was evident.

Also mounted in the trunk right behind the CD changer is a black box with some cable clusters and what looks like a small co-axial cable attached to it.

Is this for the sound system or something else?

Finally, what kind of fuel consumption should I be getting, driving around town in "D" (very little highway miles)?

I'm getting about 15 - 16 mpg right now.

thanks to all

P
