So there really is not that much difference in fuel consumption between the 740s and the 750?

We are getting 15+ in mixed driving around town.

No mixing of octanes here. We are running 87 octane all the time. Wonder if the mileage would improve slightly using 92, which is the highest available here in CA?

DHG

I can answer the easy question: I'm getting about the same city mpg: 15-16. ('96 740iL 71k) ( Right now, I'm mixing ~equal amounts 93 & 89 octanes. But that's a whole 'nother discussion. )

Finally, what kind of fuel consumption should I be getting, driving around town in "D" (very little highway miles)?

I'm getting about 15 - 16 mpg right now.
