Experience with 18 x 10 rims in Rear (archive)

I'm planning on putting new rims on my 740iL. One option is going up to 18 x 9.5 in rear like M parrallel BMW, but BBS offers nice options at 18 x 10.

Tire rack recommends rolling fender lip....no way I'm going to do that but I just met someone who had 18 X 10 in rear and said they didn't have a problem...

I'm worried if with a full car, and gas It may be a problem.
