Could someone educate me about the trans warning message? How drivable is the car with this warning ( how far,what speed)?


Had the same warning message a year ago - 10,000 miles on trip over Rockies after stopping at overlook. Car left me w/ 4th gear only for about 45 miles; until I stopped at service station, switched off, added gas, started up, and everything has been fine since - 112,000 miles on '96 740iL. Later code readout showed incident, and was cleared by dealer.
