The indication went away after shutting off the engine and restarting. The dealer service advisor said if the situation was serious it would not have cleared out after the "reboot". I went in to have it looked at and they said they found a thermostat fault, so it was replaced under warranty. No aserious problmes from driving under the warning status, the transmission will go into safe mode, which limtis you to 4th gear from my experience and that of the other post too.
