To be honest, I was coming up on it from behind and didn't know what it was. Of course, there were no badges on the car. I think the back taillamps were taped over. But most of the rear bodywork looked finished. Only when I passed the car did I see the kidney grille in my mirror and I thought, hmmm, BMW...then, I noticed that the front taped up, too, and I grabbed my camera thinking, "preproduction prototype!"

The second shot I took was out of my sunroof as we were moving away from a stop at a traffic light. I was going left at the stoplight, the 7 was going straight. By the time my camera had cycled after taking picture number two, the 7 was too far gone down the road.

Quick impression was that it was nice, but didn't stand out very much. Also seemed a bit less "imposing" than the current 7-series, but again, I am usually tuned to picking out details on 3ers!
