Are you talking about the famous "belly pan" leak ? This would be the coolant crossover between the cylinder heads that's known to weep/leak on this motor. I'd leave that job to the BMW techs at the dealer, or a knowledgeable BMW shop.

The question is - how fast are you losing coolant ?

Mine is weeping too, but nothing serious - yet.

Guys:

Firstly thank God this forum exists or I would be at the mercy of the Stealer. I have a leak behind the gallery that the dealer found on my #2 service. I want to try and have a closer look but realize some of the top end has to come off to get to the well hidden gallery. Any advice on this... Am I biting off more than I can chew by digging into this project... Do I need any special tools?
