prices are going to vary by region but at that price range you may be better off looking at the 3 series, early 90's only because mileage will likely be lower and so will repair/maintenance costs (a lot more of those on the road). Either way buying from a private party should give you about 1k more towards the car itself rather than c into a dealer's pocket (and in this range warranty/dealer assurances are irrelevant anyway)
ok...im about to buy my first BMW....but im kind of under a budget:
about $5500 for the car +2500 for possible repairs/maintenance ...or some of it could go into the cost of the car if needed
i want moderate power (not too high...since gas prices are supposed to go up to 3$/gallon this summer and i want something with decent gas mileage)
hehe...of course "moderate" bmw power can outdo many many american cars ;)
i also want something that is fairly dependable and solid...and won't be too high maintenance..
any suggestions on what type of car i should get?
