Motorola Timport in 01 740i sport (archive)

Just picked up a '01 740i sport on Friday. Was playing with the Motorola cellphone and everything works great except the handsfree mic. I have to take the Motorola off speakerphone in order for anyone to hear me. Has anyone else had this problem (and found a solution)? Or should I just bring it back to the dealer. Thanks in advance.
