Go ahead, change those lights... but hey, you're right about those check-modules. Do not try this "cheap" way of deceiving the computer.. there is a same-cost way but a bit mor time-consuming...coz sooner or later if you "deceive" the computer (i.e. change primary/slave connectors) someday when you really have trouble with any of the lights in front, you'll probably be confused which fuse or connection has resulted in a short-circuit... so go by the book, its worth the extra time in my opinion...
