Hard to tell without hearing it, but my guess would be the water pump. Grab the fan and try to move it forward and backward. A lot of slop indicates the water pump bearing is gone and it is time to replace the water pump. The pump may or may not be leaking coolant. If it is leaking coolant that is a good sign of failure too. Spin the fan by hand. It should resist the turning and slow the fan. If it spins freely then the fan clutch is gone out and needs replaced. Other things it could be are the A/C compressor clutch bearing, alternator, power steering pump, or A/C auxilary electric fan (in front of the radiator). Good luck97 740iL
After I shut off the engine. A sound like something is spinning down occurs. It has a rattling or
marbles sound and is coming from the front of the engine. 62k miles on the car.
