Great to hear you found the problem and got it fixed. Here is the process for bleeding air out of the system.
1. Start with cold engine. Remove the expansion tank cap. Add coolant if needed.
2. Turn heat on to maximum with blower on low.
3. Start engine and run briefly and rev engine to 4000 to 5000 rpm four or five times quickly.
4. If level in coolant tank drops add more coolant, replace cap and warm the engine until the thermosat opens. (I just take mine for a drive)
5. Let the car cool down >80F and recheck the coolant level by matching the level of the float in the expansion tank. This should remove all air from your system.
Was the waterpump impeller coming apart on your pump or did you loose the bearing?

I just changed my waterpump and would like to know how you bleed the air from the system. Thanks for your help.
