Replacing the waterpump is a little harder than the thermostat and took me about two hours. I do not have the BMW CD, but I found out how to replace it by posting the question here on this site.

The waterpump was $98 and the thermostat was $50 at my local dealer (minus the BMW CCA discount). I am far from being a mechanic, but both jobs were relatively easy.

Before you start, make sure you get the gasket plus two o-rings (which my dealer did not mention, luckily mine has not leaked)for the pipes that run into the waterpump.

I would definitely recommend this for anyone who has a rough idle when stopped with the AC running. Especially if the car is not sending any fault codes to the computer.

Thanks again to all here for all of your advice and to all of you who have responded to my e-mails.
