I just inspected under Bettie (98-740iL) to see what the prospects are for using some of the universal stainless tips out there. Firs twhat I see is not promising, as the muffler is very close to the rear apron and the tip that we have OEM turns down almost immediately at the rear of the muffler. This makes adding on a tip very difficult without replacing the muffler as well. An if I was going to do that, then I would go for one of the performance upgrades for the car that comes witht eh stainless tips on them. If someone wanted to weld up an adaptor to connect tot he bent tip we have then it would be theoretically possible to add the extension onto that, and maybe even exit just under the apron. I don't know if this works for road height clearances on driveway entrances and rain culvert etc.. but the downturn tip that is there requires that there be some modifications to allow the extension tip to be attached to it. Either this ir weld onto the stub just at the back of the OEM muffler, but I am not a welder. I guess this is a good idea that is not going to happen soon
