Your phone has a signal amplifier in the trunk. I am not sure what wattage it goes up too.
I just have read what comes with the conversion kit for my car.

97 740iL

Do any of you know if the wattage of the CPT8000 gets boosted when the phone is docked? Typically, mobile phones have .5 watts, however, phones mounted in the car typically have a full 3 watts. Since the BMW phone is tightly integrated into the car's electrical system, it would seem like they would take advantage of this. This obviously makes a huge difference in reception. Thanks, jon
