I just had some experience in that area. My steering wheel wouldn't go up when the key was removed and the transmission would hunt around for gears when on the highway just cruising. I made appointments at both places but opted to go to Allison just because it was closer to my work (as opposed to my home). I have to say, those guys were excellent. I didn't think they'd come back saying that they found the problem, but they did and the service rep explained everything that was done, right down to checking, test drive, another check, test drive etc... The only thing is they work slow! It took me a half hour just to get the car dropped off while the guy typed everything in and got the sheet printed out. Slow and methodic without trying to rush you through. They kept my car 2 days though because the first day was too busy and they prioritize by first come first serve, so I belive they had more people who's cars had been there from the previous day. The bottom line, excellent service, just a little slow.

Actually, another reason I took my car to Allison is because when I called SC to inquire about a service bulletin about oil viscosity, they said that BMW was now recommending synthetic 10w-60 oil...which is for the M5, not the 740.
