Hi Greg. I have a 97 740IL and you will love the car. Standard to the purchase of any vehicle, you might research the car's history. Has it been in a "salt" city? Salt can destroy much of a car and it might not become evident for years. There are no inherent problems with that vintage car that i know of....good luck, congratulations and enjoy....
