There were several posts about fuel consumption about month ago, and 16 seemed normal for city only. SHould go up to ~25 for highway and ~19 for mixed. The car's computer will tell you what it's getting, I suggest you reset fairly often and check. Make sure the engine is getting all the air it wants, because it will usually take all the gas it wants, whether it's getting the air fast enough or not. That's the easy fix, another is injector cleaning agent. Then tune up, sensors, recirc valves, etc. More money for less results.

on mixed city and hwy driving. Is this normal? Consider that I don't have a heavy foot on the gas pedal. That seems a very poor gas mileage.
