The audio system is good for the average consumer. If you're just a little picky on sound you'll find it inadequate. Upgrading is not easy however. If you can, bring some of your favorite CD's and listen to it.

The DSP system has what BMW calls subwoofers....in reality they are 5-1/4 woofers in (I believe) an isobarik configuration. Hardly worthy of being called subwoofers, but of course they take up a lot less room and work ok for people that are not too picky.

I don't necessarily agree with the other comment about underpowered engine. compared to the V8 or V12 it's behind on performance, but compared to the average car on the street it's got adequate power. What is the quoted performance numbers for that model? 0-60 mph?

Hi All,

Just about to take the plunge into buying a 728i Sport. The car I'm looking at comes with the DSP 14 Speaker HI-FI - is this any good ? I haven't had chance to play with it fully. Are there any sub-woofers in the car like the Harmon Kardon option on the 3 Series.

Also, the car I was looking at had a faulty auto boot lid opener - it wouldn;t work - is this a known problem ?
