Thanks
Cherry,
I'm glad you finally found out what was wrong with your car. That is something all of us will have to remember in the future. One question, how did they finally decide it was the catalytic converters? Did the engine finally show a fault code? Also, did you go with BMW converters or aftermarket?
Sorry I cant help you out with the ventilation problem. Look on the bright side, you won't have to worry about stepper motors, you get digital push controls instead of the wheel, and you can have them put in the new drain kit!
Good luck, Chris
They didn't figure out that the problem was the cat converter. They wanted to change my intake manifold gasket. I went into the archives and found that serveral E32's had a rattling coming from under the car that was a result of bad cat converters. When I start my car I could hear a rattle under the car so I had them change the converters and fortunately it worked. The car did not show a fault code regarding the converters. The only code pretained to the thermostat. In the research there is supposily no fault code for the converters.
Yes, I did put BMW cat's because I could not easily find aftermarket ones. I also did not want any welding to take place.
