I beg to differ with your take an opinions less favorable of this car than your own... I think if you read them again you'll see that most (regardless of age) find this car a compromise or in other words not moving forward enough. Design wise it's fallen back into the pack rather than leaping ahead of it. I never thought I would ever think a MBZ better looking than a BMW but this one puts me in that position.

Will it look good on the road? no doubt. Will it ride great? bet on it! Will it lead the pack? Nope!

I totally agree! Though I do think this automobile is absolutely gorgeous, I still think that it's that 4-or-so inch trunk line that runs on the side of the vehicle by the back pillars that totally takes away from the intended shape. It's that line that causes the rear end to seem separated from the rest of the car, and thus makes the back end somewhat chunky. My overall impression of this vehicle, though, is one of elegance and power. I'm sure, once we see it in person, it will be breathtaking.
I've read several posts from those 50's something guys who already own a 7 and won't buy this one. I think that everyone should open their eyes and see that this world is moving forward, and this automobile represents all of that. I think anything less from BMW would be a disgrace. If you want to complain about this forward-moving, agressive car that's fine. Just go out and buy a different car. I'm sure BMW will have no trouble getting these off their dealers' lots.
This situation somewhat reminds me of when the "official" pictures of the X5 were released. I didn't think that the X5 was very good looking at all. The back end looks cut off. But still, the X5 has got to be one of my favorite vehicles. I got used to it, and now I think it's absolutely gorgeous.

...that detracts from allowing this car to be attractive.

I was looking at a few messages below of pictures but those don't look as acurate as this site I'm goin to give out. This site has both the new 7 series covered with black tape hiding some features and then a computer rendering showing what it might look like.
