I just loaded up the quicktime thingie someone else posted below, then went to the 7 page at BMW.com so I had the new and old 7's side by side. They are indeed different animals. There isn't a trace of evolution here except for the front grill and hood lines (frontal shot only). Interesting

To those that keep saying this design represents some radical step forward... None of us can speak for its technology, engineering or comfort but, purely from an aesthetic stand point, this car is not only no longer recognisable as a BMW (except straight on), its profile and rear can be easily mistaken for any number of cars. You look at an E38 today from the side and there's no mistaking what it is! And what is radical about plagiarising MBZ' rear end? (wait maybe THAT is radical)
