Here's the story, I had my car in the paper for sale. A guy came out drove the car and liked it, so he takes it VOB for a Pre-Purchase inspection. Well turns out that this 97 740IL with 71K miles needs $5000 worth of work!!! This car has been DEALER maint. and serviced since new! Here's one of the prob. check out the wording they used. " (leakage) coolant traces left side of radiator" key word is TRACES, so that $970 to replace. If memory serves, the filler is on the left side, hmmm could someone have added coolant and spilt some??? So they need to replacem the radiator does to traces. Next, "Slight seapage from power steering pump" $960, O.k. so there's a slight seapage that requires a NEW pump??? "slight seapage from trans cooler lines" $550, Can we say tightening??? O.k... seams to me there is slight seapage from every where!! Such crap! This is from the dealership that sent the used cars to get certified at a local GAS STATION! On top of that, the service "advisor" was a D Head, cocky bastard. What NERVE!!!!! I need to set up a WWW.DONOTBUYABMWFROMVOB.COM
