An increasing number of your fellow Americans are understanding the benefits of having a European ride and handling setup. However, my experience of US cars, both those driven by friends and those from hire shops, is jello for suspension and the cornering power of a hover mower. A car like the Cadillac Seville, while well built, available in right hand drive and powered by the most indestructible V8 lump, are panned by critics because it handles like a wet bar of soap.
Basically, count yourself in the minority :)
