I bought them, but haven't had a chance to put them on. I'll report when it's done, but it seems Bill can confirm their usefulness.

Taz,
Thats what I'm running into - nothing for the newer E38. Why??? I don't understand why there would be nothing available for these cars.
Thanx for your message.

I purchased some after market pads from allbmwparts at 1-1800-590-7770 for a older 750il and was very pleased. I now have a 97 740il and i do not believe that they make the pads for a late model. For your info the rotors were ATE and the pads were friction tech.

I have searched the archives and talked to BavAuto concerning "dustless" brake pads for my '98 740i. Is there anyone out there that has found PBR's or some type of quality brake pads vs. factory for this car??
I am about to put new rotors on and don't want to go back to wiping down my wheels twice a day as i put a lot of miles on my car.
Please let me know your experience with other pads and where I might be able to order from.

TIA,

mark
