have spoken with independent whose take is that bmw defines lifetime as 100k--aka, planned obselescence--lubricants break down over time, and when they do, they cause more expensive repairs than the cost of changeng out the tranny fluid--lots of things shouldn't break down or wear out but they do--why risk an expensive repair??imho
I would think that if you are going to change
it then you might do it at 100k intervals. I'm
not going to change mine. I'll take there word
for it that it is lifetime.
