Hi all,

I've just discovered this site after my first driving experience of a 1990 735iL. I'm considering buying the car, which has 100k on it. It is an exceptionally clean car, with all maintenance records. However, RED FLAGS went up after I discovered numerous websites of 1988-92 750iL and 735iL owners who report massive amounts of repairs over the past decade, many of which exceed the current value of the vehicle.

As satisfying, and wonderful as these cars are, is there any consensus of vehicle reliability among owners?

These cars look fantastic, and the vehicle I'm considering appears to be an exceptional vehicle, but the thought of owning a vehicle that could have more down time than up time really scares me!

I'd appreciate any constructive input from anyone.

Thanks in advance for your time and suggestions!

Oh', BTW, the owner is asking $11,500 for the 1990 735iL in question. Even with 100k, the vehicle is very clean, although unrestored.

Enjoy,
Greg
