Thanks to Bill Gates the world is now wiser to V1.0 of anything... But down the road I have no doubt it will become accepted, perhaps even in demand. Then again I am sure many said manual transmissions were a thing of the past when the first automatic came out... 75 years ago?

If there is one area I hesitate to question BMW it is Technology so I tend to take their word for it that it is a good thing... Besides they have too much ($$$ and pride) invested in it to back off, barring any wild problems with it.

If reception is lukewarm though, the logical thing to do is to scale it back as an option (or bring back standard auto as the option).

What do you think?

I bet BMW yanks it out and returns to a traditional system within a year. I think it will flop big time. It just seems funky. Otherwise, I think the E65 will be a success.
