Seems you're in the same boat as me, non-DSP stereo and retaining factory head unit. I cut intot the wiring harness and connected to the low level signal from the head unit with some RCA connectors for the amp inputs. DId you do the same thing?

hey, Stock HU but mine didnt with the DSP..so steering wheel controls still in use... 1.75 is what JL say but we tried it out and nah..cos the volume of the sub itself is tremendous.. and also the amount of sound deadening in the seats you need a large box to push it. The sound and the performance is simply amazing..I use to have 2 12" this kills it. I'm an SQ/SPL I like it clear but loud, no distortion. Used an RTA machine and oscilloscope(i think thats how u spell it) for tuning.

Nico

Did you retain the stock HU and DSP?
If not, do you still have steering wheel controls?

The volume of your sub box seems way too big for even an 18" woofer. I would have expected you to use something closer to 1.75 cubic feet! Hows performance and how are you tuning that monster? Or are you just going for SPL?

Here are the pictures of my installation preparation and final result. List of final Equipment:
-JL AUDIO 18W6 in sealed box4-4.5 cubic foot with perpex with laser edged "7" series logo.
-Neon light which changes coulour from violet to blue.
-Rockford Fosgate 600a4 4x75 WRMS for the door speakers.
-US TECH amp [email protected] bridged runs the sub.
-MB Quartz reference series for front and JBL Power for the rears.
- Stinger cabling and converter.
