The insurance section of their Town Hall has many good discussions about diminished value after accidents.

Anyone have experience with diminished value? A person insured by State Farm backed into my car while in a parking lot. The rear bumper, trunk, and trim piece have to be replaced. The car is a 2001 and has 2000 miles on it.
