folks,

before i call BMW, i was wondering if any of you have seen PROG come up in your dash display when starting your vehicle. mine is a 1998 750. it stays on for 10 seconds or so, then goes away. everything seems to be working fine, but i've never seen that before.

That should not come up automaticaly, but only when you depress and hold the button on the left of your signal stalk for a few seconds.

That puts your On Board Computer in a "program mode" which allows you to select which information items from the OBC that you wish to see displayed in the dash readout when you hit that stalk button.

You select the items you want to see, in the order you want to see them, then stop the programing.

From then on each time you hat that button those items will be displayed - and you cycle through them in the order you selected them.

This is all in the manual.

I just select the ones I use all the time, - the others are still available in the center console display.
