Does anyone know what the sensing mechanism is? I was coming home last night at 5 in the morning and going way too fast on a deserted street when the traffic light turned red. I had to really do some braking, but nothing serious -certainly nothing requiring abs or anything, -I just really had to brake hard for a while. Well the check brake lining message popped up and is still there a day later. I just had the car extensively serviced and the mechanic mentioned one of my rotors was in bad shape but nothing about my pads needing replacement. I'm sure he would of mentioned it. Any thoughts? I'm going to try to reset it from the info on a previous post.
