DAMN Headlights #@#%$^!! (archive)

Ok, after reading some of the posts about removing the glass off the headlights, I packed the flashlights and a few hand tools and opened the hood. After about an hour of screwing around, I gave up and had a good micro brew!!

I read some posts about removing the side markers first. Well, I see a hole above and to the rear of the side markers and do see a screw in there but:
1. I had a heck of a time getting a philips on the hear
2. If I took the screw out, how would I ever get it back in?

Then I thought I would try to remove the cover below the headlight but could not get it pushed either way. I sprayed WD40 around that area and still no sliding.. Advice?

So, I really want to get the covers off and cleaned but those Germans create some tight fitting, and hard to figure out, hardware!!

Advice is appreciated. Thanks a bunch..
